Streaming service Prime Video has unveiled the first look of Nikkhil Advani’s upcoming historical-drama series, The Revolutionaries. It stars Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, Gurfateh Pirzada and Jason Shah in pivotal roles. The series is adapted from Sanjeev Sanyal’s book, Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom.
In the first look gives a brief glimpse into the series which is set in pre-independent India with Bhuvan, Pratibha and Rohit playing rustic characters involved in the freedom struggle. As per a press release, “The series tells the powerful story of brave young Indian freedom fighters who believed that armed resistance was not just vital but indispensable to ending the British Raj.”
Speaking about the show, Nikkhil said, “For me, The Revolutionaries is a deeply enriching and enlightening experience. Sanjeev Sanyal's powerful book has given us a compelling foundation to tell the untold stories of these extraordinary young patriots. The series is currently being filmed across multiple locations in India, including Mumbai, Amritsar, Varanasi, Dehradun, and more.
It is produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the banner of Emmay Entertainment and will be released on the platform in 2026.
Nikkhil recently also directed, Freedom at Midnight (2024), another period-drama that was set during pre-independence time which was also based on a book written by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre. The Revolutionaries marks his fourth period-drama after Freedom at Midnight, The Empire (2021) and Rocket Boys (2022).
